First-grade students at Charles Campagne Elementary School participated in a workshop on the importance of using all five senses. Hosted by the Long Island Center for Arts and Sciences, the program discussed each of the senses in detail and had students use lima beans and glue to spell out “I love you” in Braille. As a group, they then read “Sense Suspension,” which asked students how various objects found on an exotic island would smell, sound, taste, touch and look. Pictured are some highlights from the workshop.
