Bethpage High School had two projects that earned the right to advance to Round 2 of the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair.  There, the projects earned 1st and 2nd place in their respective categories across all of Long Island!

  • In the category of Energy: Sustainable Materials and Design - Theresa Thulasidis (Grade 10) and Ava Zingone (Grade 10)
    Dye Sensitized vs. Monocrystalline: Most Cost Efficient Method for Energy Production - 2nd Place
  • In the category of Earth & Environmental Sciences - Maya Maciel-Seidman (Grade 11), Ruchitha Channapatna (Grade 10), and Suchitha Channapatna (Grade 10)
    Soil Moisture Sensing Robot: A Novel Agricultural Device - 1st Place

Maya, Ruchitha, and Suchitha have now qualified to have their project enter the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will be held in May.

Congratulations to all of the student participants in Round 2 of LISEF on all of their hard work, research, and achievement on their respective projects.  Special thanks to Mr. Pollatos for his support of our science scholars!
