The Kramer Lane first grade students spent "A Day in the Life of a Penguin Parent". After completing a science unit about penguins in the Southern Hemisphere each child brought to school a hard boiled egg which they carried with them at all times throughout the day with the challenge of not cracking the egg. The children were able to experience how difficult it is for a penguin mom and dad to keep their egg safe under the most grueling of weather conditions. Most of the children were quite successful maintaining a crack-free egg by day's end.
