Congratulations to Charlie Bachmeier and Chris Dane, who competed in the finals of Theodore Roosevelt Speaking Competition last Thursday. 44 students across schools from Long Island competed in this contest and participants were charged with creating an original speech focusing on some aspect of the life of Theodore Roosevelt. Students then had to recite the speech in front of an audience without using any notes. Both Charlie and Chris did an exceptional job and were recognized for their public speaking efforts when they were selected as finalists for the contest. Charlie focused on Theodore Roosevelt's efforts at conservation while Chris spoke about Roosevelt's role as Police Commissioner. BHS is proud of both Charlie and Chris!
