The Bethpage Chapter of the National Honor Society recently visited Washington D.C. 48 seniors and five chaperones had a truly memorable trip. The group enjoyed the Newseum, including a moving look at the events of 9/11 and seeing parts of the Berlin Wall. Later in the day seeing the Space Shuttle and numerous Grumman planes, built right here in Bethpage, excited everyone. Visits to the National Zoo to see the pandas, all the major monuments, and Ford's Theater were fantastic. At Arlington Cemetary the group was honored to watch the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. For many the highlight of the trip was a visit to Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. A great time was had by all!
