In order to explore true Native American culture, first-graders at CBS learned the ancient tradition of corn grinding to create cornmeal for food. Following that experience, students used a cup with soil to plant a traditional Native American Three Sisters Garden, which consists of corn, bean and sunflower seeds, while learning the importance each seed held to survival for the tribe.
