BHS held a 3 v 3 soccer tournament tried something different as the entry fee pairing up with the charity Gear Up, Play Hard, a non-profit organization that collects gently used sporting equipment and gives it to school districts in need. In order to participate in the tournament the students and faculty members needed to donate a minimum of one gently used sporting equipment per team. Throughout the month of May we were holding an equipment drive at the High School for anyone to donate.

The founder of Gear up, Play Hard is a recent graduate from Molloy College. Lanier Mason attended the event and spoke to the students and faculty before we started. He also set up a station for students to ask questions about his journey on making a non-profit organization. Students not only enjoyed playing in the tournament but also were able to gain knowledge about Lanier's mission.

The event was organized by Mr. Catapano, Ms. Blavin and Mr. Berardi.  Thanks to them and feel free to go to the Gear Up, Play Hard website at: http://www.gearupplayhard.org/
