Compass Learning

Fifth-grade students at Kramer Lane participated in a unique BOCES program which taught orienteering. Orienteering is a family of sports that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain. As part of the program, students discussed the background of orienteering with a BOCES educator, received compasses, and learned how to set, read and navigate by using a compass.
