Ninth-grade students at Bethpage High School attended a character education assembly with presenter and retired police officer/actor Paul D. Failla. Drawing on real-life experiences and historic events, Failla employed humor, drama and role-playing to engage the students in the exploration of topics including destructive decisions, diversity, dignity, respect, values, leadership, profiling, racism and ridicule.
