Four Bethpage High School seniors have earned honors in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program, a competition presented by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). National Merit Semifinalists Chelsea Levy and Dan Zirkel and National Merit Commended Students Patrick Cao and Holly Josephs earned their respective recognitions as a result of their impressive 2010 Preliminary State Assessment Test (PSAT) scores.

As Semifinalists, Chelsea and Dan are two of the highest-scoring entrants in New York State. Their status makes them eligible to be considered for Finalist standing, with the prospect of earning one of three types of Merit Scholarship awards. Holly and Patrick received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise, and they can also apply for Special Scholarships through the NMSC.

Congratulations to all four students for their academic achievements that have resulted in recognition from this competitive academic scholarship program.
