A new broadcasting studio at Bethpage High School is offering a unique opportunity for students interested in the field. Included as part of the Broadcast Journalism curriculum, the studio was completed in January and has been allowing students to write, anchor and produce segments live every morning.

The daily three-to-five-minute broadcast features a live reading of all club and schoolwide announcements, as well as a pre-recorded feature story of the week, a sports corner, the day’s weather and available lunch options from the cafeteria. The script is written the morning prior to broadcasting. Anchors are positioned in front of a green screen and read the announcements from a teleprompter.

All old and current segments can be viewed by searching “Bethpage High School TV” channel on YouTube.
