An Eagle Eye for Media

Students in the Eagle Eye Media Relations Club at JFK Middle School host a weekly live broadcast during homeroom. The club started last year with audio announcements, and the live weekly television broadcasts began in December. On-air personalities have been seventh-graders Jenna DeStefano and James Jensen and eighth-grader Katelyn Harold.

Each week’s script is written by club advisor Zachary Levy and is shared with the students a few days before the broadcast. A typical show format includes an introduction to the day, the Pledge of Allegiance, a game, any school-wide club announcements, and the announcement of the game winner. All broadcasts are recorded, uploaded to and archived on YouTube and can be found by searching “JFK Middle School TV.”
