The BHS Robotics Team- the Regal Eagles- had a great showing at the FIRST Competition at the Javits Center in NYC!  Their robot was fast in speed, rugged in being able to cross the obstacles and proved to be an accurate shooter!  There were teams from all over the world at the competition and Bethpage ended up in fifth place and made it to the quarter finals. Congratulations to the entire team and to coaches Dan Zabell and Eric Kay.  Everyone invested an enormous amount of time in the creation, design and building of a fantastic robot!

In addition, several individual awards were received.   Sam Perkowsky was the prestigious Dean's List Award Finalist, essentially the MVP award for the entire event, out of everyone.   Sam is now in the running for the bigger award at the Championships.  Mr. Zabell won the coveted Woodie Flowers Award Finalist for being an outstanding mentor.  Morgan Heller took 3rd Place, NYC FIRST Robotics Competition Photography contest.
