Author Inspires Art

Author and illustrator Daniel Kirk recently visited Charles Campagne Elementary School. Prior to his visit, students shared his books in library with Ms. Ivers and created artwork with Mrs. Hermann. The projects included the creation of books, book jackets, and pictures, which were used to decorate the halls throughout the school. Daniel Kirk spoke about being an author and illustrator and gave insight about the editing process and shared ideas to become better authors and/or illustrators. For the various grade levels, he drew some of his most popular characters and sang a song. Students received an autographed copy of one of his books, courtesy of the CCS PTA. Mr. Kirk visited each of the district’s elementary schools.
