CBS Students Participate in Turkey Trot

Students in all grades at Central Boulevard Elementary School participated in the 10th annual Turkey Trot. This annual event is a fundraiser that enables the students to get outside and exercise while raising funds to help those in need.

The event, coordinated by physical education teachers Nicole Agovino and Patrick Braglia, took place on the school’s field. During their recess, students in grades four and five walked, jogged, or trotted around the field for ten minutes, or one mile. Younger students did the same for five minutes, or one-half mile.

The students donated 25 cents or more to participate, and then signed a feather with their name on it. The feathers were placed around a large turkey in the school lobby for all to see.

CBS’s Turkey Trot brought in more than $300, which was used to purchase food for Thanksgiving baskets for less fortunate families in Bethpage.
