I’m 100 Days Smarter!

Kindergarten students at Central Boulevard, Charles Campagne, and Kramer Lane Elementary Schools in the Bethpage Union Free School District celebrated the 100th day of school with a variety of activities geared toward sorting, counting, reading, and writing.

Students brought in plastic bags with items totaling 100, among which were Cheerios, gummy bears, beads, mini marshmallows, dried lima beans, and more. They counted out and divided the items into groups of ten. Prior to this activity, they made posters, artwork, placemats, and Froot Loops necklaces, color sorting them into groups of ten. Some of the students even made age progression self-portraits, depicting how they might look at the age of 100.

The kindergartners rounded out their 100th day of school by enjoying a “100 Day” snack mix, reading many “100 Day” stories, such as “Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day,” walking 100 steps, and completing writing activities based on the number 100.
