The last sail of the season was taken by Bethpage High School and Middle School students yesterday.  The 40 foot ship built in 1883 (the oldest oyster sloop in America) carried our students from the harbor to the mouth of the Long Island Sound.  Participants experienced raising the sails and dredging the bottom for local marine life.  They also learned about President Theodore Roosevelt and some of the fascinating history of Oyster Bay.  Thanks to Mr. Portuese and Mr. Carroll for making this happen!
