The Bethpage PTA Council recently held its annual awards dinner at the Fox Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, giving recognition to deserving individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty for the children of Bethpage and the local community.

“Enough cannot be said about this year’s recipient of the New York State PTA Distinguished Service Award,” stated PTA Council Vice President Carmela Ambrosio. “This award is given to [PTA] members who serve faithfully, but is reserved chiefly for those who have devoted exemplary service to the children and youth encompassing work within the community.”

“Bethpage Council of PTA would like to present the New York State PTA Distinguished Service Award for 2012 to Mr. Terrence Clark, Superintendent of the Bethpage School District, for all his years of dedication, unending energy and service to the children of the Bethpage School District,” announced PTA Council President Lena Ritchie.

Along with the award, Mr. Clark received golf balls, as he loves to golf when he has any spare time, and a two-liter bottle of Pepsi, his favorite soft drink. He joked, “That was a very well-kept secret, folks. I don’t know how you pulled it off!” adding warmly, “I can’t thank the PTA Council enough for doing this.”
