The 5th annual Stevens Institute High School Ethics Bowl took place at Stevens Institute of Technology on Thursday, May 31st. Twenty eight teams from the tri-state area matched wits over ethical cases whose topics included internet privacy, sweatshop labor in China, genetic manipulation, and the building of the Keystone pipeline. Teams competed in two preliminary rounds earning points to ultimately determine the top three teams. The Bethpage team of Michelle Cirillo, Akash Dagur, Chang Jeong, and Nisha Shah took on Perth Amboy in the first round and Clarkstown in the second round. After two hours of intense presentation, commentary and rebuttal Bethpage ultimately outscored both teams to take third place.
