This past week in Pittsburgh, approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories were awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for $4 million in prizes at the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF). Intel ISEF united these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talents on an international stage, where doctoral level scientists reviewed and judged their work.

Bethpage High School's Smiti Shah placed 3rd in her category of Environmental Engineering, with her study titled "Solar Powered Nanotech Water Filtration Device with Personal Robotic Transport System." She will be presenting her study at this year's Bethpage Research Symposium in the Bethpage High School Auditorium on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

Bethpage Schools would like to congratulate Smiti on this extraordinary accomplishment and wishes her success as she continues her studies at Duke University after graduation!
