The Bethpage Board of Education voted on Tuesday, Nov. 27 to revise the current 2012-13 school calendar in order to accommodate the days that the district’s schools were closed due to Hurricane Sandy and the Nov. 1 nor’easter. In a unanimous vote, the Board has decided to have school remain in session on Feb. 19, 20, 21 and 22. These days are no longer part of the previously scheduled mid-winter recess. Board of Education President Mike Kelly commended all of the staff and Superintendent of Schools Terrence Clark for their dedication to the district and their ability to make Bethpage one of the first school districts to reopen after the hurricane.
The revised 2013 calendar includes two snow days and leaves April 1 and May 24 as possible days off, in the event that no snow days are used.
