A group of JFK students met with Ms. Maloney and Ms. Okita on November 19th in celebration of Thanksgiving. Students worked in teams to create Thanksgiving dinner shopping lists. They discussed the items that they would need to buy and comparison shopped between several supermarkets. Each team was given a budget and the students needed to stay within their budget to feed a large family for Thanksgiving. All the students worked really hard and learned how to be smart shoppers. They had a great time! In addition, each student brought nonperishable food items to donate to a local food pantry.
