Bethpage High School offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement Courses for students. Each of these rigorous college-level courses culminates with an exam in May. College credits are determined by individual colleges based on student performance (the test is graded on a 1-5 scale with a 5 being the highest grade). BHS offers the following AP courses:
*Note: Students may elect to take additional exams in courses not offered by the High School. For example, in the past several students have opted to take the World History or the Macroeconomics exams based on their own knowledge of the subject matter. Students interested in taking that option should see the department head for supplemental materials.
The College Board (the same organization responsible for the SAT) is the entity that writes, administers and grades all the AP exams. They have an extensive website that is worth visiting for people interested in the AP Program.
