21st Century: Workshop on CyberWarfare

21st Century Scholars were treated to a fascinating discussion about cyberwarfare from some experts in the field. Northrop-Grumman provided three experts in the field to explain this topic to our audience. In simple terms cyberwarfare is defined as the ability of one entity to attack a network of another entity. That network maybe a computer network, a communications network, or the electrical grid. Kris Schehr was the primary speaker and talked about the vulnerabilities of networks. He showed us how he could have taken over cell phones of audience members, but he did not actually do it. He also talked of security of wireless home networks and he explained in detail the national security issues at stake on a larger scale. Several students stuck around to ask him more details about his work and his background in this interesting career path.

Thanks to Kris, Mike Kubasky, Rob Howard for visiting and to Vicki Payne for making the arrangements for us! Nice to know that Northrop-Grumman takes an active interest in the Bethpage Schools.
