21st Century Scholars Learn about GIS

Bethpage School District's 21st Century Scholar program had an invited guest, Professor Bob Kolvoord of James Madison Univeristy. Prof. Kolvoord came for two days to teach faculty and students about the power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Using free software and data, the students mapped different scenarios about energy, populations shifts and elections. It was a fascinating day and everyone looks forward to using this powerful tool on a larger scale.
