21st Century: Visit to Rainbow Network Center
21st Century students had the opportunity to visit the Rainbow Network Center in Bethpage. The visit was arranged by Vice President Tom Greco and his staff. This state of the art facility serves as the transmission hub for content from Rainbow's own content channels (like WE, AMC and IFC) as well as programming from around the globe. Students were taken around to see the many careers that go into making broadcasts happen. Much of what was demonstrated was compared by our guests to the programming of an iPod with definite playlists and timing schedules. It was a fascinating visit that prompted many questions from the students and they got great answers from Tom, Ed and John!
