The
Bethpage Union Free School District has initiated a new program- a
school within a school- at Bethpage High School. The Bethpage Academy
of Technology is a unique curriculum offering for high school students.
The Academy of Technology is built around a core of classes that place
computer technology at the center of learning. Students enrolled in
Academy courses are required to meet rigorous standards in a technology
rich environment.

Our partners have made donations of hardware and software, have mentored Bethpage students, have visited and talked to classes about careers and cutting edge technology and have offered advice on planning our future. Advanced |
Students
enrolled in the Bethpage Academy of Technology must complete all the
requirements for a New York State Regents Diploma as outlined by the
New York Board of Regents. In addition, students in the 8th
grade are encouraged to develop a four year plan for their own education
which will allow them to meet the requirements of the Academy.
Certification from the Academy also requires a student portfolio documenting their use and understanding of technology over the high school years. A final presentation must be made to a Technology Review Panel (comprised of faculty, administrators and corporate partners). Students will be encouraged but not required to enroll in an internship program with a corporate partner. |
