Civil War Historian at BHS
William Baker, whose great-great-great-grandfather was a Confederate office during the Civil War, recently spoke to the students in the AP History class at Bethpage High School. Mr. Baker discusses the Southern perspective of the causes of the war and the impact it had on the South, some of which had influence on the culture he grew up in generations later. His fascinating talk was accompanied by personal artifacts he brings with him- a letter from Robert E. Lee, photographs of his relatives and pieces of uniforms. The BHS students were captivated by his stories and thoroughly enjoyed the discussion and the answers he provided to their questions.
