Da Vinci’s Workshop!

Students immersed themselves into the incredible world of Leonardo da Vinci as a new exhibit made its world premiere at the Times Square Discovery Center in Manhattan. The students learned about Leonardo’s 500 year old inventions from his actual notebooks as they were brought to life in full scale, interactive models. The exhibit showed how his visions for an airplane, automobile and bridge would have worked – long before they became the modern world’s reality. Plus, students had the opportunity to uncover the translations and hidden meanings of Leonardo’s paintings, sketches and notebooks through virtual and interactive touch-screen panels. There were also full scale models of da Vinci’s inventions including his self-propelled cart, airplane, robot knight and mechanical lion.
