BHS History Day
Congratulations to our Social Science Research students for their fantastic results at this year's Long Island Regional History Day Competition! Hundreds of students from all over Long Island participated in the contest that was held at Hofstra University on March 8th. The students engaged in independent research projects that had to do with this year's theme, "The Individual in History." Josh Ganshaw and Dan Alanko were honored with two special awards for their project entitled, "The Tuskegee Airmen, Pioneers of the Sky." They won the Nassau County Citation for excellence in projects that relate to Military History, and the award for Outstanding Project on Local History. Danny Zirkel and Liam Gordon also won an award for "Best in the School" for the fabulous video that they created entitled, "Archimedes: The Man, The Myth, The Legend". Harmanjit Singh, and Sanjay Narasiwodeyar also created an excellent video about Gandhi and the Salt March. Bethpage High School is proud of the hard work these students put in and we look forward to participating again next year.
