Broadcast Journalism Students Visit Rainbow Network Center
Bethpage students from the Broadcast Journalism class were welcomed to the Rainbow Network Center by Vice President Tom Greco and his staff. This state of the art facility serves as the transmission hub for content from Rainbow's own content channels (like WE, AMC and IFC) as well as programming from Comcast and Fox Sports. Students were taken around to see the many careers that go into making broadcasts happen. The most striking difference between this and the last BHS class to tour the facility was the impact of compression technology has had on broadcasting. Signals in HD allow far more content to be transmitted. Our last visit helped us to create Bethpage Radio.
Thanks to everyone at Rainbow for hosting us and for answering all of our questions about careers in this field!
