Bethpage High School Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Athletic Director John Franchi joined Bethpage High School students Maribeth Smith and Jessica Tyznar as they signed letters of intent for athletic scholarships. Congratulations to both seniors for this accomplishment, which took much commitment and determination.

Maribeth signed for a diving scholarship to Marshall University of Huntington, West Virginia. Head swimming coach Trish Cuti, diving coach Charlene Swain, gymnastics coaches Debbie Rut and Kim Rhatigan were also there for the signing, as was Maribeth's mother, Patty. Maribeth has been on the varsity diving team since the ninth grade and varsity gymnastics team since seventh grade. She overcame a serious back injury almost two years ago and displayed a remarkable recovery. She was recruited by many college diving programs and is looking forward to working with Marshall's head diving coach Lori Meierbachtol.
