Celebrating Irish Culture

Students in Dr. Olson's 4th Grade Central Blvd. class held an impressive celebration of Irish culture on St. Patrick's Day. This year Dr. Olson invited Mr. Kevin Healy, the Assistant Principal of Bethpage High School and an accomplished bagpipe player, to speak to the class about Irish traditions. Mr. Healy played the bagpipes and answered questions for his audience. The students reported on different aspects of life in Ireland and gave a demonstration of Irish dancing and Irish music. It was a great event! Mr. Healy played in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade and was interviewed on television!
