Dietitian Jennifer Colletti painted a new picture of nutrition for Kramer Lane students. Third graders met with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County Dietitian to take part in the in-school program “Color Clues for Good Nutrition.” During the interactive presentation Ms. Colletti reviewed with students the importance of including a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in a daily diet. Students learned that colorful foods are naturally packed with various vitamins and nutrients. After the presentation and completing worksheets, students discovered that consuming foods from five different color groups they could easily make healthy food choices and maintain a healthy diet.
