Technology in our Middle School

 

The John F. Kennedy Middle School has the following configuration:

  • Scantek Lab with 13 stations
  • Thin-Client Computer Lab (30 Thin-Clients, 2 Laser Printers)
  • Dell Computer Lab (25 Dell Pentium III Computers, 2 Laser Printers, 1 Lexmark Color Laser Printer)
  • Dell Wireless Laptop Cart with Laser Printer and Science Probes from PASCO Scientific (Laptops in the Bethpage Sciences)
  • Library/Media Center (25 Thin Client Computers), an Online Public Access Catalog
  • Technology Classrooms (10 Computers)
  • Art Classrooms (2 Computers, Scanner, Color Printer)
  • Internet Access via Lightpath T1
  • Computers in 6th Grade Classrooms, Social Studies Classrooms, Special Education Classrooms, Reading Rooms
  • Wide Area Network with Gigabit Ethernet connection

The Science Department received a new Dell Wireless Laptop cart. Now, JFK students can access the Internet from their classroom. The laptops came with probes for conducting experiments.

The Libray/Media Center has been outfitted with Thin-Client technology. This system allows students to access files and applications from home via the ClassLink software. Check out directions on how to do that.
