Child Care Availability:

Bethpage School District, in partnership with Nassau County and SCOPE, is able to offer childcare for the children of first responders and healthcare professionals at no charge as they serve our community. The partnership has made a number of locations available throughout Nassau County. Although we fully understand and support the need for social distancing, the Governor has ordered these programs so the healthcare system can confront this crisis at full strength.

Registration for children ages 5-18 can be found online at Preference will be given to children of first responders and healthcare professionals. After you have registered online, SCOPE will send a confirmation notice of registration by e-mail. For immediate concerns and assistance, please call the SCOPE Educational Services at 631-360-0800.

For children under the age of 5 in Nassau County, there are currently 182 licensed and registered childcare programs open and available. Any essential workers needing this level of childcare in Nassau County can call 516-727-0331 to be connected with a referral specialist who will identify available child care programs that meet each parent's needs.

Internet Access For Households Lacking Connectivity:

Altice (formerly Cablevision) is offering a free internet product for households currently without Internet access. If your household is eligible and interested in enrolling, parents are asked to call 866-200-9522.  Through the prompts, select New Customer / New Service / New Internet.

When households call, please indicate that you are calling about "free Internet service".  Households will be asked to vouch that they have a K-12 or college student residing in the household and do not currently have Internet access.  There is no installation fee or out of pocket costs for 60 days (as of March 18, 2020).  If the address of the household has an outstanding balance from another account, there is a chance that your request may be denied unless the balance can be paid.

Please note that Bethpage Schools is not endorsing Internet access from Altice or any specific provider and not involved in procurement process.  This is an agreement and offer that is strictly between the Altice and the household.

Health and Wellness Resources:

Bethpage Schools Counseling Center has created a website with many COVID-19 resources for parents and students.  It can be accessed at the link below.
