Golden Eagles Represented at LISEF 2018

Students from Bethpage High School recently competed at the 2018 Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF).  

   -- Ujala Dar (Grade 10) - The Effect of Sintered Sodium Polyacrylate on Water Filtration
   -- Bhavika Garg (Grade 11) - Examining TLR-4 Deficient Murine Macrophage Cell Lines By Measuring Inflammatory Cytokines: A Path Towards Improved Treatment of Infectious Diseases
   -- Candace Haney (Grade 12) -  The Effect of Landfill Conditions on the Styrofoam Consumption of Mealworms
   -- Shreyasi Saha (Grade 12) - The Effect of Harsh Conditions on the Growth of Specific Healing Plants: Aloe barbadensis and Phyllanthus emblica
   -- Smiti Shah (Grade 12) - Solar Powered Nanotech Water Filtration Device with Personal Robotic Transport System

All of the students put forward an amazing effort at the competition and represented Bethpage High School proudly!  Smiti's study was one of the projects selected by the LISEF judges to move onto Day 2 of LISEF, which will take place on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.  Congratulations to all of the students on all of their hard work and their advisor, Mr. Pollatos for his guidance and support!
