Bethpage High School seniors Ankur Raghavan and Arsh Singh were recently recognized as semifinalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among more than 16,000 semifinalists out of 1.3 million high schoolers to earn the title due to their excellent 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Scholarship Qualifying Test scores.
As a semifinalist, both Ankur and Arsh represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. They are now in the running to compete in the program for about 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered in the spring of 2024. About 95% of semifinalists are expected to advance to the finalist round, with approximately half of the finalists winning a National Merit Scholarship.
