students on stage

Bethpage High School is proud to congratulate 15 outstanding 10th grade students who earned top distinctions - gold, silver, and bronze medals - in the National Italian Exam (NIE), a prestigious national language contest sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI).

Established in 1985, the NIE is a proficiency and performance assessment that evaluates students’ written and aural interpretation skills. The exam draws participation from approximately 5,000 students across the United States each year. Only about 1,600 students receive medals and other honors - making this recognition especially noteworthy.

The Italian program at Bethpage High School continues to inspire students through immersive cultural experiences and rigorous academic challenges, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Ms. Tiffany Salcedo, Coordinator of World Languages, and Ms. Francesca Calio, Italian teacher and advisor of the Italian Club.

Congratulations once again to our medalists - we celebrate your impressive achievements and look forward to all you will accomplish in the future!
