The college planning and application season is officially underway at Bethpage High School. On Monday, the BHS Counseling Department kicked off the fall college planning process with a college fair in the gymnasium, bringing nearly 70 college admissions representatives to campus.
Representatives from schools ranging from NYU and LIU to James Madison University and Molloy University were on hand to meet with students, answer questions and provide information about their programs. Bethpage students filled the gym throughout the event, gathering brochures, speaking with admissions representatives and exploring options as they build their lists of potential colleges.
The fair also highlighted pathways beyond the traditional four-year college experience. Representatives from several branches of the Armed Forces and technical schools were available to speak with students interested in other options for life after high school.
The college fair is just the beginning of a busy fall of college planning at BHS. Head of Guidance Thomas Kenny and the counseling team have several additional college fairs and information sessions planned, including programs focused on the college admissions process and financial aid.
