connectors

At Charles Campagne Elementary School, the spirit of connection, leadership, and positivity is alive and well, thanks to a remarkable group of student leaders known as the CCS Connectors.

This new program, which officially launched this year, empowers 4th and 5th grade students to take on leadership roles within the school community. Every morning and afternoon, our CCS Connectors proudly stand at school entrances and exits, welcoming their classmates with warm smiles and friendly greetings to start the day, and offering cheerful goodbyes as students head home. These simple but meaningful gestures set a positive tone for the entire school day and help foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

But the CCS Connectors program is about much more than just morning greetings. These student leaders play an active role in shaping the culture of kindness at CCS. They help new students feel comfortable by serving as buddies, participate in meetings during their lunch period, and volunteer to assist at school events. Through this program, students are building essential leadership skills while learning the value of empathy, responsibility, and teamwork.

The application process for CCS Connectors includes thoughtful reflection, with students asked to consider what qualities make a great leader, how they would help new classmates feel welcome, and to share personal stories that highlight their strengths as communicators, team players, and role models. It’s clear from the heartfelt responses that our CCS students are ready and excited to make a difference.

As one of our guiding programs this year, CCS Connectors is not only helping to build a positive school climate—it’s also giving students a powerful voice in shaping the culture of our school. Their leadership reminds us each day that the simple acts of saying “hello” and “goodbye” can make all the difference in creating a strong, connected, and caring school community.

We are so proud of our CCS Connectors and look forward to watching them continue to grow as leaders!
