The Bethpage High School Robotics Team, Regal Eagles, participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition Long Island Regionals #1 and #2 from Monday, March 20, 2023 through Saturday, March 25, 2023. Throughout the course of the week, the Regal Eagles persevered through many challenges they encountered with their robot and earned the following recognitions:
- Gracious Professionalism Award at FIRST Long Island Regional #1 (celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values and working together both on and off the playing field)
- #4 Seeded Alliance in Playoffs at FIRST Long Island Regional #1 (eliminated in third round of playoffs)
- Engineering Inspiration Award at FIRST Long Island Regional #2 (celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team's school or organization and community)
- #2 Seeded Alliance in Playoffs at FIRST Long Island Regional #2 (eliminated in third round of playoffs)
By earning the Engineering Inspiration Award, the Regal Eagles will be participating at the FIRST Robotics Competition World Championships from April 19, 2023 through April 22, 2023 in Houston, Texas with NASA covering the team's registration cost. This will mark the seventh straight year that the Regal Eagles have earned the right to participate at FIRST Robotics Competition World Championships (with championships not taking place in 2020 & 2021 due to coronavirus).
