2022-23 ISEF

After placing in first in the category of Environmental Engineering at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF), Joy Kim, Riya Saha, and Sofia Maciel-Seidman earned the opportunity to compete at this year's Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Dallas, Texas. Their study focused on developing a cost-efficient, sustainable, hydroponics system which incorporated an Arduino Uno-powered pH sensor providing accurate, instant readings.

Each year, approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for an average $4 million in prizes. Regeneron ISEF unites these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talents on an international stage, where doctoral level scientists review and judge their work.

Bethpage Schools congratulates Joy, Riya, and Sofia on this incredible accomplishment!
