This morning, Bethpage High School seniors Aaryan Rupesh and Matthew Tusa, members of the school’s award-winning robotics team, the Regal Eagles, were featured on a News 12 segment connected to the upcoming Ryder Cup at Bethpage State Park.
The segment highlighted “Putt Fore Purpose,” an initiative by Optimum to benefit aspiring STEM students on Long Island. Throughout Ryder Cup week, guests can take part in the activity at News 12’s remote putting green on the Bethpage Black course. For every successful putt, Optimum makes a donation to FIRST Long Island, a nonprofit that supports robotics, engineering, and STEM education.
After the putt on the green had been made, cameras switched to Aaryan and Matthew at the News 12 Studios, where they shared their experiences as members of the Regal Eagles and spoke about their passion for robotics and STEM.
Bethpage is proud of Aaryan and Matthew for representing both the high school and the Regal Eagles, and for promoting the opportunities and excitement that come with STEM education.
