It's been an extraordinary fall season for Bethpage's female athletes, with two varsity teams claiming conference championships and the girls cross country team heading to the state championship this weekend after winning county. From the pool to the court to the trails, Bethpage girls have proven themselves unstoppable. The girls varsity swim team closed out their dual meet season with a flawless 7-0 record, crowned Conference 4 champions. The Eagles dominated their final league meet of the season, remaining undefeated throughout conference competition. A standout performance came from seventh grader Adelyn Burleson, who qualified for county in the 500 freestyle – an impressive achievement for such a young athlete. The team went on to capture the Division A Championship on Oct. 28. The 2025 Bethpage Girls Varsity Volleyball team continued their winning tradition, securing the Conference AA2 Championship with a stellar 17-1 overall record and 15-1 conference record. A season highlight included a sweep of Hicksville in three straight sets during their Dig Pink game, which raised money for cancer research. The team's success this year builds on strong momentum from their 2024 season, establishing Bethpage as a volleyball powerhouse. Perhaps the most dramatic story of the fall belongs to the girls cross country team. After falling just one point short of qualifying for state last year – a heartbreaking loss to South Side – the Eagles have earned their redemption. Bethpage captured the Class B team championship at the Nassau state qualifier meet on Nov. 8 at LIU Post's 5-kilometer course, scoring 54 points. All seven Eagles runners placed between sixth and 20th, showcasing the team's incredible depth. The undefeated squad (5-0 overall, 5-0 in Nassau Conference 3A) now heads upstate to Queensbury High School for the public school state championships this weekend. These achievements represent more than just wins and championships – they demonstrate the dedication, teamwork and resilience of Bethpage's female athletes. From a seventh grader making county to a cross country team turning last year's disappointment into this year's triumph, these young women are writing their own success stories. Congratulations to all our amazing athletes, and best of luck to our cross country team this weekend. Bring home that state title!
