This month, students at Central Boulevard Elementary School celebrated Thoughtful Thursday by creating a school-wide kindness chain. Each student contributed a link adorned with words of positivity, weaving together a colorful display of encouragement and community spirit.
The celebration took on special meaning in Ms. Cataldi's second grade classroom, where students joined forces with their fifth-grade buddies to craft their links together. After completing the chain, the pairs sat down to write letters to one another — sharing what they appreciate and admire about each other.
The activity was a heartfelt way to honor both Valentine's Day and the meaningful connections that have grown between older and younger students throughout the year. The buddy relationships, which have been nurtured across the school year, were on full display as second and fifth graders worked side by side, offering kind words and encouragement to their partners.
