Bethpage Union Free School District has been named a Best Community for Music Education (BCME) by the NAMM Foundation, joining a select group of school communities nationwide recognized for their commitment to music as a core part of the educational experience.

The designation – awarded annually by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation – honors districts that demonstrate exceptional support for music education through funding, participation, instruction time and community engagement. Bethpage's recognition reflects the district's sustained investment in its music programs across all grade levels.

From beginner instrumental instruction in the elementary schools to award-winning ensembles at the high school level, Bethpage's music program offers students opportunities to develop creativity, discipline and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Participation spans hundreds of students across bands, orchestras, choirs and more.

The NAMM Foundation established the BCME program to highlight districts where music education is supported at every level, from administration to classroom. Districts are evaluated on a range of criteria including curriculum breadth, student access, and community involvement.

The district thanks all the music department staff for their countless hours of instruction, mentorship and inspiration that they bring to students every day – their commitment to excellence is the heart of this recognition.
