Charles Campagne Elementary School marked the first day of May with an enthusiastic tribute to local first responders, welcoming family members who serve as firefighters, police officers and EMTs to join students in a celebratory parade outside the school.

Students from every grade lined the front drive, holding handmade posters decorated with flags and messages of gratitude. The CCS Band and Orchestra performed patriotic selections, and the CCS student council officers offered words of thanks before presenting a check to Tunnel to Towers – a joint fundraising effort with Bethpage's other two elementary schools, Central Boulevard and Kramer Lane.

Former CCS Principal Kevin Healy joined in the festivities, leading the parade in traditional dress, playing the bagpipes. Following the procession, first responders were welcomed into the multipurpose room for a breakfast reception.

It was a joyful morning and an expression of the deep gratitude the CCS community holds for those who work every day to keep Bethpage safe.
