On Apr.30, Bethpage High School's international relations class had the unique opportunity of visiting the United Nations headquarters in New York City along with Mr. Musto and Ms. Indenbaum.

Students received a guided tour of the facility and, in a serendipitous moment, were able to visit the General Assembly room while a live meeting was in session. Seeing the world's foremost international body at work in real time made for an experience students aren't likely to forget.

The tour covered the history of the United Nations, its ongoing role in disarmament and the de-escalation of armed conflict, and the wide-reaching humanitarian work carried out by UN organizations around the globe. For students studying international relations, it was a chance to connect classroom learning to the real-world diplomacy and cooperation that shapes global events.
