Students at Central Boulevard Elementary School put pen to paper for this month's Thoughtful Thursday with a project that was both creative and meaningful: writing letters to the students who will take their place next year.
From kindergarteners addressing future kindergarteners to second graders writing to future second graders, each student crafted a letter sharing all the wonderful things students can look forward to in their grade level. The letters offered a glimpse into what students love most about their school year – the experiences, traditions, friendships and moments that make each grade special at CBS.
The activity is part of Thoughtful Thursday, a monthly school-wide initiative in which all Central Boulevard students take part in a different act of kindness or community-minded project. Past projects have included creating a school-wide kindness chain for Valentine's Day, making handmade postcards for families at a local food pantry, and decorating grocery bags with uplifting messages for shoppers at the local King Kullen.
This month's letters were also a meaningful way to mark the end of the school year, giving students a chance to reflect on their own experiences while paying that joy forward to the next group of learners who will walk through their classroom doors.
